"Blue Mist" featuring Three Jazz Guitar Greats

My favorite Jazz guitarist is Grant Green. My second favorite is Kenny Burrell. Here they are performing with fellow guitarist Barney Kessel (so okay, what numbered-favorite is he? Let's just say he's in my top 5 of jazz guitarists). Blistering stuff.

Adding Color to a Black & White World

Here are some fun photos of the kid.

Nerd Alert: this whole post was produced on an iPhone from start to finish. I used the iPhone's camera to take the picts. Then I tweaked them with a cool app called ColorSplash that lets you selectively add color to portions of your picture. Then I uploaded/wrote this post by sending an email with the attached tweaked photos using the Multi-Photo Email app.

So why do all that on the iPhone? Well, 'cause I can.

My son goes by many names. Could "President" be one of them?

Home Video: Dancing Round & Round...

...until we all fall down (well, at least one falls down). The scene: Helen seriously puts her all into her beautiful dance. Cousin Dylan (my son) dances his own interpretation of her dance. Dizzyness & hilarity ensues. With a bonus appearance by Lucy, the stunt double, at the end.

(Don't forget to click on the "HD is Off" button in the viewer to watch a higher-quality HD version that'll take to you to the Vimeo website).

My Tilt-Shifted Photos

I'm having a lot of fun making instant tilt-shifted photographs using the new App store application "TiltShift" for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Subjects in tilt-shifted images often have a miniature or "toy" look to them. I also found the program good for isolating or highlighting particular points of interest in a photo. "TiltShift" works as advertised and is very fun to use. Bring on the tilt-shifted photo onslaught! You'll probably see them everywhere now...

Spidey Conquers Jamba Juice

My son loves Spiderman. Not only does he have one of those Spiderman "gibbets" (or some name like that -- those little doo-hickey decorative pins you put on the top of your Crocs sandals), he even has Spiderman PJs. As for myself, I like Spiderman too (I think the second movie is the best of the three). Who doesn't like Spiderman?

My son and I also like Jamba Juice. My usual is the now-discontinued "Berry-Lime Sublime," so I order it Rock-Star-Style, ordering off-the-menu.

So what does Spidey have to do with Jamba Juice? I don't know, but this Letterman bit from about a year ago had me in stitches.

"Kala" by Hokuli`i Images

Geralyn of Hokuli`i Images recently took photos of my 2-year-old son and posted a quick write-up along with a few pictures from the session on her blog. Besides being a terrific photographer with a loving and winning personality, she is an overall great person. I can't recommend her enough if you're looking for a wedding/special events photographer to capture those special moments.

Wahlberg vs. Sandberg on SNL

So it looks like Mark Wahlberg does have a sense of humor about the whole, "Say hi to your mother for me" thing. Couple things: I like the almost-throwaway "mother" line Wahlberg gives to Josh Brolin (since Barbara Streisand is, of course, married to James Brolin) and the donkey -- is that some kind of political thing?
